Zakladatelka a majitelka české kosmetické firmy Ryor, skromná držitelka celé řady prestižních domácích i zahraničních ocenění.
Její kosmetiku u nás zná snad každá žena. Zákaznice si jí oblíbily především pro její ověřenou kvalitu, která je srovnatelná se zahraniční značkovou kosmetikou, s jediným rozdílem - v obchodech je k dostání za příjemnější ceny. V tomto roce slaví firma Ryor neuvěřitelných dvacet let od svého založení. A proto jsme se paní Štěpánkové zeptali:
Jak jste se dostala ke kosmetice a k chemii?
Zamilovala jsem se do kluka, který byl fanda do chemie. Vztah sice nevydržel, ale láska k chemii mi zůstala na celý život. Po ukončení VŠCHT jsem nastoupila v roce 1971 do Ústavu lékařské kosmetiky jako vedoucí výroby a hned na začátku jsem dostala těžký úkol. Převést své laboratorní zkušenosti co nejrychleji do výrobní podoby. V ústavu se totiž do té doby vyrábělo stylem jako v lékárně. Dáš tam tolik a tolik oleje, když to bude málo mastný, tak olej přidáš, jestli se z toho něco vyloučí, nevadí, bude z toho mast. Cenu přípravku tvořily jenom suroviny, ostatní práce včetně režie šla na účet národního podniku. Brzy se výroba přestěhovala z Jugmannovy ulice do nových prostor v Hostivici u Prahy. V bývalém tanečním sále někdejší hospody jsem rozjížděla svou první výrobu podle vlastních receptur.

Jak to s Vámi bylo dále?
Když mi bylo 43 let, narodila se mi dcera Jana. V té době jsem taky přijala nabídku Státního statku v Jenči u Prahy, abych pro ně vyvíjela kosmetické přípravky založené na přírodních extraktech. Proč jste začala podnikat?
Bylo těsně po revoluci a já jsem cítila, že začíná konjunktura a na domácím trhu je mezera. Už jsem nechtěla půjčovat ostátním svůj mozek a schopnosti. Založila jsem tedy firmu Ryor. Název firmy je odvozen od zkratky dvou parfémových kompozic v prvních přípravcích - Rybíz a Orange. Začala jsem s výrobou kosmetiky pro profesionální salóny, můj vstupní kapitál byl minimální - 30tisíc Kč .

Měla jste někdy krizi v podnikání?
Ano, v roce 1998 přišla krize českého velkoobchodu. Krachovala jedna firma za druhou. V několika regionech skončili mnozí mí obchodní partneři. Musela jsem rychle vytvořit a sestavit vlastní obchodní tým a vybudovat vlastní síť s menšími operativními dodavateli. Byla jsem připravena na tvrdý boj, stálo mě to hodně úsilí a nervů, ale vyplatilo se. Raději udělat i dva kroky zpět, než se hnát zatvrzele proti zdi. Byla to pro firmu moc těžká doba, ale zvládli jsme to.

Při svých podnikatelských úspěších nezapomíná ani na pomoc těm, kteří to opravdu potřebují. Několik let finančně přispívá a spolupracuje se společností Mamma Help, která pomáhá ženám, které měly tu smůlu a onemocněly rakovinou prsu. Společnost Mamma Help oslovila paní majitelku, zda by nezhotovila nějaký přípravek pro revitalizaci pokožky. Nebýt toho, neseznámila by se s člověkem, který u nás ve velkém začal pěstovat amarant – česky Laskavec. Jde o původní potravinu Inků, obsahuje látku zvanou skvalen, který pomáhá pacientů s rakovinou kůže. A právě amarantový olej se stal specialitou Ryoru. Jako první v Evropě začala firma pracovat s amarantovým olejem. Firmou zadané klinické studie dokázaly, že amarantový olej má mimořádně regenerační účinky na vysoce citlivou pleť. Je známo, že účinky radioterapie poškozují pleť a pokud se pleť ošetří amarantovým olejem před ozářením, nespálí se. Dlouhá léta také sponzoruje Školu Slunce, která se stará o postižené děti a děti s mentální retardací.
Jaké máte plány do budoucna?
Kosmetika je celý můj život a pořád mě baví. Společně s mou dcerou Janou plánujeme její převzetí firmy. Až mi bude sedmdesát, převezme vedení firmy ona. Ale můj definitivní odchod nehrozí. Ráda si nějakou dobu ponechám osobní dozor nad recepturami a chemickým složením přípravků. Neustále je co vylepšovat, chci být prostě krok před ostatními.
